Funny names are funny: “30 Rock” has always taken (and provided) great pleasure in amusing monikers, whether it’s Dr. Spaceman, Jeffrey Weinerslav, Wesley Snipes or Floyd DeBarber. And this episode added three terrific ones to that proud, silly tradition: Tracy’s friend Colin O’Scopy, Liz’s alias as Kenneth Toilethole (which also set up Kaylie’s similar fumbling attempt to invent a name in Jack’soffice), and, my favorite, Gaylord Felcher. Yes, the last one’s reminiscent of Greg’s full name in “Meet the Parents,” but in the context of a storyline about standards, practices and double standards, a good dirty joke worked perfectly. (As did the enthusiasm of the actor as he cursed at Kenneth, flipped everyone the bird and otherwise acted very mad with power.)

Hey friends. I’m going to be on 30 Rock tonight. The whole experience was amazing and getting to do a scene with Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer was surreal. Here’s a deleted scene from the episode.

Ok, so that was just a clip of Rusty Staub swattin’ balls all over Shea Stadium.Rusty is one of my favorite Mets.

A few things to take note of.

1) The rockin soundtrack. Fine, it’s absurd, but I defy you to find a track better suited.

2) There is a YouTube Channel called RustyStaubChannel. That’s great news for everyone.

3)Take a look at how much he chokes up on the bat. You don’t see guys do that anymore. Choking up and cutting down on your swing is how you stay tough with two strikes. It takes a lack of ego and a love of your team to choke up. Rusty had both.

Man, I love baseball.
